General Hotel Information

What time is check-in?

Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival. In the case of earlier arrival, we try our best to accommodate our guests where possible without any additional costs. Please note that an earlier check-in is subject to room availability and can’t be guaranteed.

What time is check-out?

Check-out is 12 noon on the day of departure.  In the cases of late departure, we try our best to accommodate our guests where possible. Please note that a late check-out is subject to room availability and available until 5pm latest at a cost of €20 per hour. If you plan to avail of a late check-out, please arrange with our reception team during your stay.

Does the hotel offer baggage storage?

Yes, you can leave your luggage with the reception free of charge until your room is ready or you are ready to depart. Please note that we do not offer an overnight storage facility and that luggage storage is available for guests only.

Does the hotel have WiFi?

Yes, we have complimentary 400MB super fast WiFi throughout the property.

Do we provide laundry service?

Yes, the hotel operates a dry-cleaning service and it is charged by the item. If you have your laundry down before 8am, it will be back that evening. The service operates every day except for Sundays and bank holidays.

What do I do if I accidentally left some items in the hotel?

Queries about the lost property can be brought to [email protected], postage fees for the lost property must be paid by guests.

Are pets permitted in the hotel?

No, pets are not allowed in the hotel, with the exception of guide and assistance animals.

Is the hotel reception desk open 24 hours a day?

Yes, the reception desk is staffed 24 hours a day.

What is the hotel’s smoking policy?

At Ballsbridge Hotel, we operate a strictly non-smoking policy throughout the entire hotel. A deep cleaning fee will be charged to guests who are found to be in breach of our no smoking policy.

Is the hotel accessible?

Yes, we are proud to be offering superb levels of accessibility throughout our hotel, with elevators to all floors. Please contact us if you would like any additional information.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, vouchers can be purchased from our reservations team.

Do you provide printing facilities for boarding passes?

Yes, there is a business centre located in the hotel lobby where guests can print their boarding passes. Please note that guests must pay for printing.

Does the hotel offer currency exchange?

No, we don’t, but we will be happy to direct you to the nearest facility.

Do you supply travel adapters?

Yes, we sell adapters at reception (subject to availability).

Does the hotel have gym or spa facilities on-site?

No, we don’t have a gym or spa on-site. However, we do sell passes for Gym Plus Ballsbridge located about a 5 minutes’ walk away from the Oval building on the Shelbourne Road. The passes cost €10 and must be purchased at reception. Failure to do so will result in a €15 charge at the gym.

What room types does the hotel offer?

Ballsbridge Hotel boasts 400 comfortable bedrooms. Depending on your needs, you can choose between 8 different room types, including classic double rooms, classic twin rooms, family rooms, junior suites, classic suites, deluxe double rooms, deluxe twin rooms and master suites. We also have a number of interconnecting rooms available.

Are there wheelchair accessible rooms available?

Yes, we have 4 accessible rooms available at the hotel. All our accessible rooms are located on the ground floor, 2 offer a roll-in shower, 2 offer a lower bath.

Does the hotel have family rooms?

Yes, we offer family rooms which consist of 2 double beds and can sleep 4 people maximum. We also offer interconnecting rooms if you should need a bit more space.

Can I get a cot or camp bed in my room? 

Yes, baby cots are available upon request. We do not offer camp beds or additional beds in rooms.

Are the hotel rooms air-conditioned?

No, our bedrooms have no-air-conditioning.

Do the bathrooms have a shower or a bath?

All our bedrooms, bar 2 accessible rooms, offer both a shower and a bath.

Does the hotel offer wake-up calls?

Yes, we do offer wake-up calls. Please speak to a member of the reception team to request.

What amenities are included in the room?  

All our bedrooms are equipped with a hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, luggage rack, desk and chair. Guests can request a fridge, fan and additional heater from reception (subject to availability).

Dining

Does the hotel have a restaurant on-site?

Yes, The Dubliner Pub is well known for its great sporting atmosphere on match days and its excellent bar food. We offer a fantastic selection of fresh, seasonal dishes and we also offer a delicious carvery lunch Monday to Friday. We finish serving food at 9:45pm. However, room service is available 24 hours.

Does the hotel offer breakfast?

Yes, we are renowned for a great selection of breakfast options available each morning to kickstart your day. Breakfast is served from 7am to 10.30am Monday to Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, it is served between 7am to 11am.

Ballsbridge Hotel offers both Bed & Breakfast rates and room-only rates. If breakfast is not included in your room rate it can be added for €13 per person per day on check-in. Otherwise, it can be added in the restaurant on the morning for €16 per person.

What are the opening times of the restaurant?

The Dubliner Pub is open for lunch from 12pm to 3pm Monday to Friday. Bar food is available from 3pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 12pm to 10pm on weekends and bank holidays.

Does the restaurant cater food for allergies?

Yes, all of our menus have a full allergy listing. Please inform your waiter if you have any allergies, vegetarian or dietary requirements and our kitchen team will be delighted to assist.

Does Gain & Grill offer a dedicated kid’s menu?

Yes, we offer a dedicated menu for our little ones.

Do you provide room service?

Yes, you can enjoy our delicious food in the comfort of your own room. We offer an extensive menu with a variety of dishes to suit specific dietary requirements and personal tastes. Room service is available 24 hours.

Is there a reservation for dinner required?

Is there any entertainment available in the hotel?

Yes, we have a resident pianist play in our piano lounge on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Are there meeting and event room facilities available at the hotel?

Yes, we have 10 meeting rooms which vary in size and can be used for small to large meetings. We also have a ballroom which can be used for larger events/banquets. Room seating can be set up to cater to the booker’s request.

Does the hotel facilitate conferences?

Yes, we do cater for conferences.

What equipment is included in the meeting rooms?

All our meeting rooms are equipped with LCD projector and screen, delegate stationary (pens, paper and markers), table refreshments and flipcharts. In addition, free high-speed WiFi will be provided complimentary in all meeting rooms as well as air conditioning. Our meeting rooms have natural daylight and blackout curtains.

Are there food and beverage options available?

What is iSave and how do I sign up?

iSave is an online sign up service where you will save €10/£10 per room, per night on all of your future bookings. You can join iSave in 3 simple steps on our website. You save money on reservations at our hotel and it can be used across all Clayton Hotels or Maldron Hotels in Ireland and the UK too.

Can I claim back on the Stay and Spend Tax Credit Scheme?

Yes, we are delighted to confirm that all Maldron Hotels are registered for the Stay and Spend Tax Credit Scheme. That means if you stay with us between 1st October 2020 and 30th April 2021 you can claim up to €125 under this scheme, please see revenue.ie for more information and details.

What is the best way to make a reservation?

The best way to book is online on our website where you can easily see our best rates and what exclusive offers and packages are available. Alternatively, you can call us on +353 (0)1 637 9300 or [email protected]. Please note that online discounts may not be available when booking via telephone or email.

What should I do if I haven’t received a booking confirmation?

If you have not received your booking confirmation, try to check your spam/junk folder. If you still haven’t received it, please contact our reservations team on +353 (0)1 637 9300 or [email protected] and they will be happy to help you or to re-issue a new confirmation.

What payment methods does the hotel accept?

At Ballsbridge Hotel, we accept cash, bank transfer, pay by link, Visa, Mastercard and Amex.

What is the hotel’s credit/debit card policy?

A valid credit/debit card is required to secure all bookings made online or over the phone, unless in cases where this is otherwise stated. Please note that nothing is charged to the card at booking stage when booking directly with the hotel (with the exception of advance purchase offers or bookings that require a deposit. This will be clearly outlined in the special offer terms and conditions).

What does pre-authorization mean?

The property reserves the right to pre-authorise cards prior to arrival to guarantee the booking. Should the card decline, they also reserve the right to advise of this accordingly and should a valid card not be provided by 2pm on the day of arrival, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation. The holding amount is for the value of your first night’s stay. We would always recommend making bookings with credit cards when possible. A pre-authorisation is a holding on your card, it would normally show up on your bank account as a pending transaction. When you arrive in the hotel, we can either complete this transaction (keep the funds) or reverse the pre-authorisation, allowing you to pay by cash or by another card.

How do I make a group or multiple room booking?

Are there any age restrictions when booking a hotel room?

To book a hotel room, you must be at least 18 years old. All under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian or parent.

Can I show up at the hotel without a booking?

Yes, we can accept walk-in bookings. However, we would always recommend calling ahead to the hotel or pre-booking online prior to arriving to secure your reservation and to avoid disappointment.

Can I extend my stay?

Yes, depending on availability, we’ll be happy to accommodate you for further nights at an additional cost. Please contact our reception team at any stage during your stay and we will happily arrange the rest for you.

How can I cancel or amend my booking?

If you have booked directly with the hotel, you can amend or cancel your booking by visiting the ‘Manage Booking’ section on our website. Alternatively, you can call us directly on +353 (0)1 637 9300 or [email protected] to cancel or amend your booking.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you have booked the reservation directly with the hotel over the phone or online, Ballsbridge Hotel offers free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to the day of arrival unless advance purchase non-refundable rate was selected. Please note that some special offers and key dates outlined in the terms and conditions may specify a special cancellation policy applicable to that offer and date.

How can I cancel my reservation if I booked via a third-party website?

All reservations made through third-party websites must be amended or cancelled directly with the third-party website as we cannot do that on your behalf. Please note that third party websites and online travel agents have their own cancellation policies, so please refer to your confirmation email.

What does the “no-show” policy entail?

If you do not show on the day of your booking or didn’t successfully cancel, you will be charged the full amount for your first night’s stay. If you have booked our “advanced purchase” or “prepay and save” rates, you will incur a 100% penalty charge for the entire duration of your stay.

Location & Parking

How far away is Dublin city centre?

Dublin city centre is a 20-minute walk from Ballsbridge Hotel. The Dart rail line and a number of Dublin bus routes 4, 7, 7A (located outside the hotel) also connect guests to the city centre. A taxi to the city centre will cost approx. €8.

How far is the hotel from Dublin Airport?

Dublin Airport is approx. 15.5km and 20-minutes travel time from Ballsbridge Hotel.

We recommend taking the Aircoach which operates a direct service between Ballsbridge and Dublin Airport. This service runs every 30 minutes, the route numbers are 702 and 703. A return ticket costs €14 or €8.50 for a single journey, pre-booking your tickets is not needed. It operates 24 hours a day and takes about 20 to 40 minutes. Alternatively, taxis are available outside arrivals in both terminals. The price is based on the meter and costs approximately €35

Are there any shopping areas nearby?

Yes, Ballsbridge Hotel is ideally located for a shopping break in Dublin. We have many coffee shops and grocery stores in the local area. The closest clothing shops are on Grafton street which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Also, O’Connell Street is just 2.7km away from the hotel.

What is there to see and do around the hotel?

The Aviva Stadium is a 5-minute walk from our hotel, Herbet Park is also a short walk away and has a playground for children. Sandymount strand is an easy 20-minute walk from our hotel.

Is there a car rental station near the hotel?

Yes, Hertz has a car rental outlet on Baggot Street, just a 10-minute walk from our hotel.

Is car parking available?

Yes, on-site parking is available for resident guests and visitors which is operated on a first-come, first-served basis (subject to charge and availability). Hotel residents can avail of the special overnight rate of €12 per night per vehicle. Also please note we do not reserve car parking spaces. Our car park is open air with no height restrictions.
